Curbside Market Schedules
One of our most popular Food Access programs at Foodlink is our Curbside Market. The program has three trucks that are loaded up with fresh fruits and vegetables every morning and travel around Rochester and surrounding counties bringing fresh produce to food deserts at affordable prices. The program has been running for over three years now and each quarter we create schedules to distribute so that sites know where we're going and when. When the program started with one truck, a simple time-based schedule worked. But as the program grew, not only did the time-based grid no longer fit with multiple truck routes, but it got convoluted and confusing for our customers. As we got ready to launch the winter schedule for 2018, we sat down to brainstorm the best way to get the information out in a clean, simple, easy-to-navigate fashion. We landed on a map-based schedule divided into three maps - the City of Rochester, Westside locations, and Eastside locations. We're testing the schedule to see how it's working for our drivers and customers - especially those for whom English isn't their native language.
