Hunger Action Month 2017
This September, for our annual hunger advocacy and awareness month newsletter, we once again created a "30 Ways In 30 Days" calendar to fight hunger. Feeding America's nation-wide theme for 2017 was once again The Empty Plate Campaign. The focus was once again on what you can't do on an empty stomach - listen, study, work, etc. And also on what you can do to help fill those stomachs - working at a pantry, hosting a food drive, contacting political figures. With this calendar, I switched focus from a pantry-style look to a more farm-to-table look. It brought in the element of empty plates while also playing with the concept of food creating community. The details show more of the 3D effects that went into creating the imagery, as well as the typography and design of the overall piece.
Empty Plate Front Lawn Display
In addition to the calendar, this year, I headed up an effort to showcase the number of people Foodlink serves each year. After working with our local Home Depot, we had supplies donated, and volunteers helped spray paint stakes, staple plates to stakes and pound them into our front lawn in this eye-catching display.
